The usability and impact of SafariCart will be imparted, contributing to the wider discourse on accessibility and equity in assistive technology solutions. The report title, “Bridging the gap between equality and equity: Usability report on The Accessibility Institute’s assistive commerce transportation solution for low resource environments, SafariCart.” summarises the core themes and objectives of the evaluation.

What are they?
Heuristics provide a framework to reach a specific target or desired level of satisfaction, in our given context they can be explained as: ‘guidelines. In user experience design, it is nearly impossible to define rigid rules. There is no fool-proof way to create experiences that are guaranteed to work. Instead, you can refer to principles to guide you in your design process.’ (Wong, 2022)
Preparatory Work
In order to conduct a heuristic evaluation to a satisfactory level, it is good practice to undertake some preparatory work in the outset. Building a heuristic evaluation requires a methodological approach, with an understanding of the product context and the goals of the service user. A strong method to broaden one’s understanding of the user’s actions towards a goal is a Task analysis (Bagateyeva, 2023). The task grid below aided in understanding the focal points of the selected briefs such that the principles could be selected and tailored to focus on the important interactions that could lead to potential issues.
